Flying Carp Swimming (FCS) is a registered workout group of IM. This is the name of our swimming group which  has been a part of Masters Swimming for 40+ years.

Illinois Masters

Illinois Masters (IM) is a registered team of ILMSA. This is the name of the team comprised of some of the registered swimmers in Illinois, for the purposes of competition on the National and Internastional levels of Masters swimming.  

Illinois Masters Swimming Association

Illinois Masters Swimming Association (ILMSA) http://www.ilmsa.com is a Local Masters Swimming Committee (LMSC) of U.S. Masters Swimming. Geographically, it governs most of the state of Illinois. ILMSA is charged with doing a number of things related to Masters Swimming, including: providing membership services, arranging swim meets in the area, sanctioning meets, governing Masters swimming in the state, keeping ILMSA swim records, keeping local team information, distributing meet entry information and results through periodic newsletters and the website, and providing (through USMS) teams, members and coaches with insurance coverage for practices and competitions.

We are a very diverse organization. There is something for everyone in Masters swimming, where adults of all ages enjoy aquatic fitness at any level, beginner to competitive.

USMS

U.S.Masters Swimming (USMS) http://www.usms.org  is a national membership-operated nonprofit organization that provides membership benefits to more than 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country. These benefits include: insurance, SWIMMER magazine, sanctioned events, and many others. USMS and its 52 Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSCs) provide direct support to more than 1,500 Masters Swimming teams and workout groups. Structure and organization of USMS programs vary and are driven by factors such as pool availability, instructor or coach availability, community support, and finances. The majority of locations offering Masters Swimming programs have coaches on deck. Coaches write workouts and provide feedback and instruction.
